Rick O’Brien is a familiar face in the 4×4 and outdoor industry with a career spaning over 20 years. With past roles including Editor of Extreme 4WD Magazine, Associate Editor and DVD Presenter with 4WD Action and onscreen appearances on shows such as What’s Up Down Under, 4wd TV and Sydney Weekender he certainly knows what he is looking for in a 4wd.

Currently Ricko is the Presenter and Executive Producer of the popular Channel 10 show The Offroad Adventure Show. The cast and crew cover tens of thousands of kilometres each year with many of which being on the road less travelled. Filming is always on a tight schedule and vehicle reliability is critical. When it came to replacing Ricko’s trusty FJ Cruiser that featured in Season 3 he came knocking on our door.

Ricko had the vision of building one of the most capable and well equipped Ford Rangers in the country, a vision that was shared with us a little over two weeks from when he needed to leave on the first trip. Not being afraid of a challenge the 4×4 Megastore team got to work. Two weeks later and some 200 plus man hours Ricko’s new Ranger rolled out the door at 12:15am on a Saturday Morning.

This Ranger is now in its second season of filming. Ricko has driven some of the roughest roads and toughest tracks Australia has to offer (Many of which towing an EziTrail Camper) without it letting him down.
